How to Measure for a Custom Mattress
Accurate measurements are the key to a perfect fit. Here's how to get them right.
Rectangular Spaces
- Measure the inside width of the frame or space at the widest point
- Measure the inside length from head to foot
- Note the desired thickness (typically 6″–12″ for beds, 4″–6″ for bunks)
- Measure in multiple spots — frames aren't always perfectly square
- Subtract 1 cm from each side for fitting clearance
Irregular & Curved Spaces
- Create a cardboard or paper template that fits your space exactly
- For V-berths, measure width at the widest and narrowest points plus overall length
- For corner cuts, measure the straight edges and diagonal
- Take a photo of the space alongside the template for reference
- Send measurements and photos to us — we'll confirm before building
